Black limba veneer is a variation of African limba known for its strong contrasts and distinctive visual character. Its base color generally ranges from yellowish beige to light brown, crossed by broad dark streaks that are nearly black, giving the wood a very expressive appearance. In veneer form, these natural contrasts create dynamic and decorative panels that easily draw attention.
Native to West and Central Africa, limba mainly comes from the species Terminalia superba. The variety known as “black limba” is distinguished by the more pronounced presence of these dark streaks, which naturally appear in certain logs. In veneer form, it is appreciated for its unique character and is often used in furniture, architectural panels, and interior applications where a wood that is both warm and highly contrasted is desired.
