Pommele sapele veneer is a rare variation of African sapele, characterized by rounded, cloud-like patterns that create a highly dynamic surface. These natural formations give the veneer a rich visual effect where light reflects differently depending on the viewing angle. Its palette generally ranges from reddish-brown to dark reddish-brown, enhancing the depth and richness of these patterns.
Derived from the species Entandrophragma cylindricum, sapele is widely used in cabinetry and decorative veneer. When certain logs develop this pommele figure, the wood becomes particularly sought after for high-end applications.
